Terms & Conditions

Booking, payment, and cancellation — plain, firm, and upfront, so there are no surprises later.

By booking a trip with Traverse Ski Guides, you agree to the terms below. Read them before you pay a deposit, not after.

1. Guide operations & trip changes

We operate this program at our discretion. That includes changing plans, substituting terrain, or ending a trip early or before it starts, based on our judgment of the conditions, weather, and the group. This can happen with no advance notice, including the morning of your trip. We're not responsible for expenses you've incurred around a trip that gets modified or cut short for safety reasons.

2. No guarantee

Booking a trip is not a guarantee of a specific peak, line, route, or objective. We guide to the conditions and the terrain in front of us, not to an itinerary. The trip — the days in the mountains with a guide — is what you're booking, not any particular outcome.

3. Waiver of liability

Every guest must read, understand, and sign our waiver of liability before participating. Declining or failing to sign the waiver means you can't join the trip, and it doesn't entitle you to a refund.

4. Payment schedule

A deposit is due at the time of booking to hold your spot. The remaining balance is due in full 3 months before your trip start date. For trips booked within 3 months of the start date, full payment is due at booking. If a scheduled payment isn't received, we may release your spot and cancel your booking.

5. Cancellations & refunds

Once you book, we commit guides and resources to your dates and turn away other clients for that time. Because of that, payments made to Traverse Ski Guides are non-refundable once received — including for illness, injury, work conflicts, travel disruption, lack of fitness, or simply changing your mind. If you need to cancel, tell us as early as you can. We'll do what we can to help, including trying to fill your spot or move you to another date if one's available, but a refund isn't something we can promise.

Trip cancellation insurance

We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance for every guest — it's the most reliable way to protect the money you've put toward a trip if something comes up before you go.
This is on you to arrange, and worth doing as soon as your deposit is paid.

6. If we cancel or cut a trip short

Weather, snow conditions, and safety come first, always. If we cancel a trip or end it early for safety reasons, that's different from a guest cancellation — we'll work with you directly on rescheduling or a credit toward a future trip, handled case by case.

7. Circumstances beyond our control

Some things are outside anyone's control — a lack of snow, road or backcountry closures, government restrictions, wildfire, or other events that make a trip impossible to run safely. If a trip is cancelled for reasons like these, the same non-refundable policy applies. This is exactly the kind of situation trip cancellation insurance is meant to cover.

8. Your expenses

Travel, gear, lodging, and any other costs you take on around your trip are your responsibility and aren't covered or reimbursed by Traverse Ski Guides under any circumstances.
