Waiver of liability
Before signing up for a trip, you have to read and understand this waiver. Forward us any questions you have before booking. Please note you'll need to fill out a paper copy once you're on site.
By signing this document you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of the Occupiers Liability Act, or claim compensation following an accident.
How we manage risk
Every trip is planned and led by ACMG and Canadian Avalanche Association certified guides. Before we leave — and every morning in the field — we look at snowpack, weather, and terrain, and choose a route based on what the day actually allows, not the one on the itinerary.
Guides and clients carry avalanche safety gear (transceiver, shovel, probe) on every trip. We travel and make decisions conservatively rather than pushing when conditions say otherwise, and we'll change or cut a route short if that's the right call.
Group size stays small and matched to the terrain, and every trip is pitched to the group's actual fitness and experience — not the other way around.
Risk, honestly
Backcountry skiing carries real risk. Avalanches, crevasses, weather that turns faster than forecast, and terrain that doesn't forgive a bad line — these are part of the environment we travel in, on every trip, no matter how carefully it's planned.
Training, certification, and experience reduce that risk. They don't remove it. Conditions can shift quickly, and people — guides included — can make mistakes.
We do everything reasonable to minimize risk and to make each trip as safe as it can be. We can't guarantee your safety, and we won't tell you otherwise.
