Good lines are found, not forced. The route follows the snow, the weather, and the day you actually have — not the one on the itinerary.
Traverse Ski Guides is built around three ways of moving through the mountains: multi-day traverses that link classic terrain point to point, basecamp trips that trade travel time for repeated laps on the best snow, and custom touring built around whatever you're training for, chasing, or trying to learn.
Every trip is planned the way a guide actually plans — around avalanche conditions, weather windows, and group fitness, with the flexibility to change course when the mountains ask for it.
Featured adventures
Wapta Traverse
The classic glacier-linking traverse through the Wapta and Waputik icefields, hut to hut across some of the most accessible high alpine terrain in the Rockies.
Bow to Yoho Traverse
An extended line off the Wapta, continuing past Balfour Hut and down through the Yoho Glacier into Yoho National Park — more terrain, more remote, fewer parties.
Icefield Basecamps
We run basecamps on icefields including Freshfield, Premier Range, and Homathko. We select the location based on conditions, objectives, and group experience.
Spearhead Traverse
A high-alpine link between Whistler and Blackcomb's backcountry — exposed ridgelines, glacier travel, and a hut system built for exactly this kind of trip.
Custom Touring
Single days or short trips built around your objectives — training laps, a specific line, or just chasing good snow on the days you have.
